Eucelf Taste Sr., 46, and his son Eucelf Taste Jr., 22, were taken into custody in the parking lot of a business complex in Oakwood. The arrests mark the culmination of an eight-week operation that began on April 27, targeting gun violence and drug trafficking in the city. The operation, announced by U.S. Attorney Dominick S. Gerace II on June 22, has resulted in federal charges against 47 defendants.
According to charging documents, Taste Jr. allegedly sold fentanyl and a machinegun to undercover officers, claiming to be a member of the 41 Boyz, a violent drug trafficking organization. Taste Jr. allegedly discussed his father’s involvement in the drug trade, saying that Taste Sr. received kilograms of narcotics every month from his source in Mexico.
The operation has yielded significant results, with agents seizing 176 firearms, machinegun conversion devices, and kilogram quantities of fentanyl, cocaine, and methamphetamine. The arrests of Taste Sr. and Jr. were made by the Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team (SOFAST), led by the United States Marshals Service.
