Gary Warick, Methamphetamine Trafficking, Kentucky 2022

U.S. District Judge Robert Wier handed down a 120-month prison sentence to Gary Warick, 58, of Hagerhill, Kentucky, in a U.S. District Court in London on Tuesday.

According to evidence presented at his trial, Warick was convicted of conspiracy to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine, distribution of 50 grams or more of methamphetamine, distribution of methamphetamine, and possession with intent to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine.

On two separate occasions, April 26 and May 3, 2022, law enforcement in Johnson County, Kentucky, conducted controlled purchases of methamphetamine involving Warick. The execution of a search warrant at his residence on May 4, 2022, uncovered additional methamphetamine, resulting in the seizure of over 130 grams of the substance.

Warick had previously been convicted of felony trafficking in a controlled substance in 2010.

Under federal law, Warick will be required to serve 85 percent of his 120-month prison sentence. Upon his release, he will be placed under the supervision of the U.S. Probation Office for eight years.

The investigation was conducted by the FBI and the Kentucky State Police, with Assistant U.S. Attorney Justin Blankenship serving as the lead prosecutor.

Gary Warick must serve 85% of his 120-month prison sentence, totaling 102 months. He will be under the supervision of the U.S. Probation Office from May 2026 until May 2034.
