Gene Jackson, Heroin Trafficking, Louisiana 2023

Gene Jackson, a 53-year-old New Orleans man, has been convicted of federal drug trafficking charges. On May 11, 2023, Jackson pleaded guilty to violating the federal Controlled Substances Act, announced U.S. Attorney Duane A. Evans.

According to court records, Jackson admitted to possessing with the intent to distribute a quantity of heroin, in violation of 21 U.S.C. §§ 841(a)(1) and 841(b)(1)(C).

The charges against Jackson carry a maximum sentence of up to 20 years imprisonment, a fine of up to $1,000,000, and at least 3 years of supervised release. Jackson also faces a mandatory special assessment fee of $100.
