Georgia Man Pleads Guilty to Child Sex Exploitation
DANIEL NOLAN DEVOR, 40, a resident of Brunswick, Georgia, pled guilty to conspiracy to produce child pornography in a disturbing case of child sex exploitation.
According to court documents, in November 2013, DEVOR was arrested by special agents with the United States Department of Homeland Security, Homeland Security Investigations (‘HSI’) after they determined that DEVOR was responsible for creating and posting videos depicting the sexual exploitation of children on the Internet.
DEVOR has been in custody since his arrest and faces a mandatory minimum sentence of not less than fifteen (15) years and a maximum penalty of thirty (30) years imprisonment, supervised release of not less than five years up to life, and will have to register as a sex offender.
DEVOR’s sentencing is scheduled for July 17, 2014. This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse launched in May 2006.
Project Safe Childhood marshals federal, state and local resources to better locate, apprehend and prosecute individuals who exploit children via the Internet, as well as to identify and rescue victims. For more information about Project Safe Childhood, please visit www.projectsafechildhood.gov.
The investigation was handled by Homeland Security Investigations, with the prosecution being led by Project Safe Childhood Coordinator and Fraud Section Chief, Assistant U.S. Attorney Brian M. Klebba.
