PHOENIX – A disturbing case of child abuse has come to a close with a harsh sentence for the perpetrator. Donald Wade Pablo, a 55-year-old member of the Gila River Indian Community, was sentenced to 15 years in federal prison for abusive sexual contact with a minor.
The crime, which occurred between August 2013 and November 2014, saw Pablo, a Blackwater, Ariz. resident, sexually abuse a victim who was under the age of 12 and also a member of the Gila River Indian Community. The abuse took place within the Gila River Indian Community.
Pablo had previously pleaded guilty to the charges, which led to the sentencing by U.S. District Judge John J. Tuchi. The sentence includes a term of lifetime supervised release following Pablo’s prison term.
The investigation into Pablo’s crimes was conducted by the Gila River Police Department, while the prosecution was handled by Assistant U.S. Attorney Christina J. Reid-Moore, District of Arizona, Phoenix.
