Girty Caught Red-Handed: Felon Fires Off Gun Charges
MUSKOGEE, OKLAHOMA – In a move that will leave you wondering how anyone can be so reckless, Kelly Don Girty, Jr., 30, of Gore, Oklahoma, pleaded guilty to violating federal firearm laws.
The charges stem from an investigation by the Sequoyah County Sheriff’s Office and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, which revealed that on January 7, 2024, Girty, a convicted felon, was in possession of a .22 caliber, bolt action rifle that had been shipped and transported in interstate commerce.
