A federal judge slammed 45-year-old Indiana resident Glass with a 10-year prison sentence for fentanyl trafficking in a high-profile case that rocked the streets of Fort Wayne.
According to court documents, Glass was caught red-handed with over 20 kilograms of fentanyl, a deadly synthetic opioid that has ravaged communities across the country.
Authorities said Glass was selling the deadly substance to users in the Fort Wayne area, putting countless lives at risk.
The case was brought to light by the diligent efforts of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the Fort Wayne Police Department.
In a statement, U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Indiana, Thomas L. Kirsch II, expressed his satisfaction with the outcome, saying, “This sentence sends a powerful message that we will not tolerate the trafficking of deadly substances in our communities.”
The sentence was handed down by Judge Holly Brady in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Indiana, with a mandatory three-year term of supervised release to follow.
