ROCHESTER, N.Y. – In a stunning case of human trafficking, Glenview Dairy, LLC, d/b/a Bergen Farms, of Odessa, NY, pleaded guilty to attempting to harbor illegal aliens before U.S. District Judge Frank P. Geraci. The defendant was also sentenced to pay a $60,000 fine.
The investigation, conducted by Special Agents of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Homeland Security Investigations, under the direction of Acting Special Agent in Charge J. Michael Kennedy, revealed that between 2012 and 2014, Bergen Farms employed 10 aliens knowing that the individuals were in the United States illegally.
The plea and sentence are the culmination of a lengthy investigation into the company’s hiring practices. Assistant U.S. Attorney Bradley E. Tyler, who is handling the case, stated that the company’s actions were a clear violation of federal law.
Glenview Dairy, LLC, d/b/a Bergen Farms, is a dairy farm based in Odessa, NY. The company’s guilty plea and subsequent fine mark a significant victory for law enforcement in the fight against human trafficking.
