Federal Prison Sentence Handed Down to Hot Springs Man for Methamphetamine Distribution
A Hot Springs, Arkansas man has been sentenced to a lengthy federal prison term for his role in a methamphetamine distribution scheme.
Grealin Thomas, 39, was sentenced to 96 months in federal prison followed by three years of supervised release on one count of Distribution of Methamphetamine. The Honorable Susan O. Hickey, United States District Judge, presided over the sentencing hearing in Hot Springs.
According to court records, in March 2017, investigators with the 18th East Drug Task Force and Homeland Security Investigations conducted a controlled purchase of methamphetamine from Thomas. The methamphetamine was later sent to the Arkansas State Crime lab where it tested positive for methamphetamine.
A federal grand jury indicted Thomas in July 2017, and he pled guilty in June 2018.
This case was investigated by the 18th East Drug Task Force and Homeland Security Investigations. Assistant United States Attorney David Harris prosecuted the case for the United States.
The sentencing marks the culmination of a lengthy investigation into Thomas’s activities. The case serves as a reminder of the ongoing efforts by law enforcement agencies to combat the scourge of methamphetamine distribution in the region.
