A 24-year-old Okemah resident, Gregory Dwayne Guinn, has been sentenced to prison for his role in a drive-by-shooting that left one person injured.
Guinn, also known as Gregory Dewayne Guinn, pleaded guilty on February 5, 2025, to one count of Assault with a Dangerous Weapon with Intent to Do Bodily Harm in Indian Country and one count of Use, Carry, Brandish, and Discharge of a Firearm During and In Relation to a Crime of Violence.
According to investigators, on January 15, 2024, Guinn fired multiple rounds at an acquaintance’s residence in Okemah from his vehicle before fleeing the scene. One resident was struck in the drive-by-shooting.
The crimes occurred in Okfuskee County, within the boundaries of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation Reservation, in the Eastern District of Oklahoma.
Guinn was sentenced to 21 months in prison for the assault charge and 120 months for the firearm charge. The sentences will be served consecutively, resulting in a total of 141 months in prison.
The case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), a program aimed at reducing violent crime and gun violence in communities across the country.
Guinn will remain in the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service pending transportation to a designated United States Bureau of Prisons facility to serve his sentence.
