Gregory Sean O’Neall Sentenced to 10 Years for Possession of Child …

GRIMY TIMES – In a scathing blow to pedophiles, Gregory Sean O’Neall, 51, of Des Moines, Washington, was today sentenced to ten years in federal prison for possession of child pornography. The sentence was handed down by Chief U.S. District Judge Marsha J. Pechman in Seattle, with O’Neall also facing lifetime supervised release and sex offender treatment.

O’Neall, a convicted sex offender from Houston, Texas, had been arrested in June 2012 following an investigation led by the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. His online activities attracted attention when he was caught sharing explicit images of children on an online file-sharing site. The undercover agent engaged O’Neall in chat, where they discussed various photographs.

Further investigation led to the revelation that O’Neall had posted more than 100 photos, including ‘up-skirt’ shots taken at retail stores like Costco in Federal Way, Washington. His prior conviction was for molesting a 6-year-old girl, leading to a 7-year probation sentence in Fort Worth, Texas, in 1991.

Prosecutors sought the lengthy sentence, writing, “A substantial period of imprisonment is the only effective means to protect our community from the defendant.” The case is part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative aimed at combating child sexual exploitation and abuse.

The investigation was led by ICE’s Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and the prosecution coordinated by Assistant United States Attorney Jerrod Patterson. For more information on Project Safe Childhood, visit www.projectsafechildhood.gov.
