ALBANY, NEW YORK – The grimy streets of Washington County were rocked when 44-year-old Thomas P. Allen, Sr., from Granville, New York, faced the music after pleading guilty to transporting child pornography.
In a disturbing admission, Allen confessed that for over three years, from February 2016 through November 2018, and again in December 2019, he uploaded images of child pornography onto his Google Drive account. His despicable habit didn’t stop there; he also received child pornographic material on his cell phone.
Acting United States Attorney John A. Sarcone III was unequivocal: “Thomas P. Allen’s deliberate exploitation of the internet to transport and possess child pornography is a lawless attack on the innocence of our children. My office will not tolerate this sickening conduct and will pursue justice with relentless vigor.”
Craig L. Tremaroli, Special Agent in Charge of the Albany Field Office of the FBI, echoed these sentiments: “This guilty plea ensures that Allen will pay for his heinous acts behind bars. The FBI remains committed to hunting down predators who prey on our most vulnerable citizens.”
Scheduled for January 22, 2026, Allen’s sentencing before United States District Judge Mae A. D’Agostino could see him locked up for at least five years and facing a fine of up to $250,000. The judge will also decide his term of supervised release, which could last from five years to the rest of his life.
The FBI investigated this case with the assistance of the New York State Police, while Assistant U.S. Attorney A.J. Vickey prosecuted it as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide effort to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse.
