Stalking Conviction Lands Hazleton Man 30 Months in Prison
Beneath the surface of a quiet Pennsylvania town, a sinister plot unfolded. Gregory Rossi, a 49-year-old man from Hazleton, Pennsylvania, was found guilty of stalking a victim from August 1, 2018, through August 27, 2019, while a protection from abuse order was in place.
According to Acting U.S. Attorney Bruce D. Brandler, Rossi entered a guilty plea on December 16, 2019. This marked a significant turning point in the case, as Rossi’s actions would ultimately lead to his downfall.
On April 8, 2021, U.S. District Court Judge Robert D. Mariani handed down a 30-month prison sentence to be followed by three years of supervised release. The Judge also ordered the forfeiture of dozens of firearms and thousands of rounds of ammunition found in Rossi’s possession at the time of his arrest.
The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Hazleton City Police Department, and the Sugarloaf Police Department. Assistant United States Attorney Jenny P. Roberts prosecuted the case, ensuring justice was served.
