ST. LOUIS, MO – The grim reign of the Williams crew in Hannibal has come to a screeching halt as Tyrone L. Williams, 37; Terry T. Williams, 34; and Harold Williams, 30, all faced the wrath of justice today, being sentenced to staggeringly long prison terms for their roles in a major drug trafficking operation.
The trio, who have been terrorizing the Hannibal area with their illegal activities since 2004, were each handed down sentences that will keep them behind bars for decades. Tyrone Williams, the alleged ringleader, received a sentence of 121 months; his brother Terry got 60 months; while Harold was sentenced to 112 months. All three appeared before U.S. District Judge Audrey G. Fleissig.
According to court documents, the Williams crew was responsible for bringing in vast quantities of cocaine and cocaine base into the Hannibal and Quincy areas, establishing a distribution network that spanned both states. Tyrone and Justin Woodson, who was previously sentenced to 120 months, were said to have maintained out-of-state sources of supply, with Tyrone overseeing the transport of drugs back to Missouri for sale.
Hope Street and Gordon Street in Hannibal became the focal point of their distribution activities, but they weren’t limited to that. Quincy, Illinois, also fell under their drug-dealing dominion. Both Terry and Harold served as street-level distributors, working directly under Tyrone and Justin’s command.
But it was Tyrone who stepped over a dangerous line when he admitted to instructing Harold Williams to assault a cooperating witness during the investigation. This revelation only added to the severity of their crimes.
United States Attorney Jeff Jensen expressed his gratitude for the relentless efforts of the law enforcement agencies that brought these criminals to justice. The Drug Enforcement Administration, West Central Illinois Drug Task Force, Quincy Police Department, and numerous other departments worked tirelessly to dismantle this criminal enterprise.
This case has been handled by Assistant U.S. Attorney Angie Danis, who represented the U.S. Attorney’s Office in bringing these sentences down upon the Williams crew. The harsh penalties serve as a stark reminder of the consequences that await those who choose the path of drug trafficking and organized crime.
