Harjit Singh Dub, Methamphetamine Distribution, Maryland 2020

A California man was sentenced to 7 years in federal prison for distributing methamphetamine in Maryland. Harjit Singh Dub, 27, of Moreno Valley, California was found guilty of distributing methamphetamine after mailing two parcels containing the substance and a firearm to a post office in Maryland.

According to his plea agreement, Dub mailed a parcel containing 5 kilograms of methamphetamine and another parcel containing a 39-caliber rifle to a postal box in December 2019. Law enforcement officers intercepted the parcels from a post office in Spencerville, Maryland, where they were searched pursuant to search warrants.

After shipping the parcels to Maryland, Dub traveled to the state to collect the money for the methamphetamine and rifle in person. He unknowingly met with an undercover officer at the Washington National Airport before being arrested by law enforcement in Rockville, Maryland.

Dub also admitted to shipping firearm silencers and large quantities of cocaine and heroin, according to his plea agreement.

This case is part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force (OCDETF) investigation, which identifies, disrupts, and dismantles the highest-level criminal organizations that threaten the United States using a prosecutor-led, intelligence-driven, multi-agency approach.

Acting United States Attorney Jonathan F. Lenzner praised the DEA for their work in the investigation, thanking Assistant U.S. Attorney Erin B. Pulice for prosecuting the case.
