Steve Garduno, Meth Possession with Intent to Distribute, Pennsylvania 2020

PITTSBURGH, Pennsylvania – Steve Garduno, a 51-year-old man from Strasburg, Colorado, has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for possessing with intent to distribute 305 grams of a mixture containing methamphetamine.

According to United States Attorney Cindy K. Chung, Garduno was sentenced by United States District Judge Christy Criswell Wiegand on October 28, 2020.

Garduno’s sentence includes four years of supervised release following his prison term. This means he will have to report to a probation officer and follow specific rules during the four-year period.

The investigation that led to Garduno’s conviction was conducted by the Greenville Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Craig W. Haller and Special Assistant United States Attorney/Mercer County Assistant District Attorney Shane T. Crevar.

Garduno was caught in possession of the methamphetamine during a traffic stop of his SUV by the Greenville Police Department. At the time of his arrest, he had been convicted of several felony crimes throughout the prior 30 years, including burglaries, weapons and assault crimes, and drug trafficking crimes.

Garduno was also on bond with a pending Colorado charge for possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine that had been filed just four months earlier. This charge further highlights Garduno’s history of involvement in the illicit methamphetamine trade.

Garduno’s sentencing serves as a reminder of the serious consequences of engaging in drug trafficking activities. It is a significant victory for law enforcement and a testament to their dedication to keeping our communities safe.
