A Wolf Point man has been sentenced to 32 months in prison for a brutal assault on the Fort Peck Indian Reservation.
Harry B. Azure, 22, pleaded guilty in October 2021 to assault resulting in serious bodily injury, according to a statement from U.S. Attorney Leif M. Johnson.
The assault occurred on November 19, 2019, when Azure and another individual broke through the door of the victim’s residence in Wolf Point, striking him multiple times in the head with a small baseball bat.
The victim was initially treated at a local hospital before being flown to Billings due to the severity of his injuries.
Azure was sentenced to 32 months in prison, to be followed by three years of supervised release. Chief U.S. District Judge Brian M. Morris also ordered Azure to pay $13,505 in restitution.
The case was investigated by the FBI and Fort Peck Tribal Police, with the U.S. Attorney’s Office, including Assistant U.S. Attorney Wendy Johnson, prosecuting the case.
