PHOENIX – A shocking case of family involvement in a homicide has come to a close in the District of Arizona. On Tuesday, Mike Haudley, 65, of Logan, Utah, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge John J. Tuchi to 98 months of imprisonment, to be followed by three years of supervised release. Haudley had previously pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter.
The victim, whose identity has not been released, was stabbed to death at their home on the Navajo Nation in 2015. Mike Haudley’s brother, Benjamin Haudley, 63, of Nazlini, Ariz., was previously sentenced by Judge Tuchi to 13 months of imprisonment, to be followed by one year of supervised release, after he pleaded guilty to misprision of a felony.
According to court records, Mike Haudley was responsible for the victim’s death, while Benjamin Haudley helped to conceal the victim’s body. The brothers are both enrolled members of the Navajo Nation. The investigation in this case was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Navajo Nation Department of Public Safety.
The prosecution was handled by Assistant U.S. Attorney Alexander Samuels.
