Heroin Traffickers Busted in Loyalsock Township
A federal grand jury in Harrisburg has indicted two individuals for their alleged involvement in a heroin trafficking conspiracy in Lycoming County. Timothy Moses, 34, of Philadelphia, and Marissa Copen, 26, of Linden, are accused of distributing heroin in the Williamsport area using rental vehicles and hotel rooms.
According to the indictment, Moses and Copen conspired to distribute and distribute heroin on or about October 2015. Their alleged activities were uncovered through a federal investigation led by the Federal Bureau of Investigation with the assistance of the Pennsylvania State Police.
The indictment alleges that Moses and Copen used rental vehicles and hotel rooms to facilitate the distribution of heroin in the Williamsport area. They were arrested on October 21, 2015, as a result of the investigation.
Assistant United States Attorney George J. Rocktashel has been assigned to prosecute this case. An indictment is only an allegation, and all individuals charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
Under federal law, the maximum penalty for this offense is 40 years of imprisonment, a term of supervised release following imprisonment, and a fine. The sentencing judge will consider various factors, including the nature and seriousness of the offense, the defendant’s history and characteristics, and the need to punish and protect the public.
