Seven Sentenced in West Virginia Heroin Trafficking Ring
MARTINSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA – A federal court in West Virginia has handed down prison and probation sentences to seven individuals as part of a heroin trafficking network that spanned multiple states.
The defendants, who traveled across state lines to procure heroin in the Baltimore area, were charged with various crimes including use of a telephone to facilitate heroin distribution and aiding and abetting interstate travel in aid of racketeering.
Cortney Blaire Saylor, 30, and Megan Saylor, 32, both of Martinsburg, were sentenced to 77 months and 10 months in prison, respectively, for their roles in the trafficking network.
Cassandra Elaine Riggs, 26, of Falling Waters, West Virginia, was sentenced to five years of probation. Scott Andrew Ours, 33, and James Miner Jenkins, 37, both of Martinsburg, received 32 months and 24 months in prison, respectively, for their involvement in the heroin trafficking operation.
Lindsay Bohrer, 37, of Berkeley Springs, West Virginia, was sentenced to 21 months in prison for his role in the network. Veronica Gladden, 32, of Martinsburg, was given five years of probation. The operation was disrupted in June 2015 by a 163-count federal indictment targeting 41 defendants.
The investigation was led by the Eastern Panhandle Drug and Violent Crimes Task Force, a HIDTA-funded initiative, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Chief U.S. District Judge Gina M. Groh presided over the cases. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Anna Krasinski and Paul Camilletti prosecuted the cases on behalf of the government.
