Hinckle Caught Red-Handed with Stolen Guns

A Morgan County man is facing up to 20 years in prison and a $500,000 fine after being found guilty of possessing stolen firearms.

Dustin Wade Hinckle, 30, was convicted of two counts: Felon in Possession of Firearms and Possession of Stolen Firearms.

According to evidence presented at trial, Hinckle stole a police vehicle during a traffic stop in May 2015 and made off with two guns. When he was apprehended, investigators found the stolen firearms in his possession.

Hinckle’s prior convictions for Breaking and Entering and Grand Larceny in Circuit Court of Frederick County, Virginia, make him ineligible to possess firearms.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Paul Camilletti prosecuted the case, which was investigated by the West Virginia State Police, the Morgan County Sheriff’s Department, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
