Hamilton Jones, Firearm Possession, Oregon 2021

PORTLAND, Ore. — Hamilton Jones, a 20-year-old member of the notorious Hoover Criminal Gang, faced federal justice after being sentenced to 25 months in prison for illegal firearm possession as a convicted felon.

Jones, a resident of Portland, was caught red-handed in an ongoing federal investigation into the Hoover gang. Court documents revealed that Jones had been seen online with firearms and offering them for sale.

On February 11, 2021, law enforcement executed a search warrant at Jones’ residence, where they found a loaded 40mm semiautomatic pistol, extended magazine, 1,000 Xanax pills, two magazines, ammunition, and an empty box for the pistol. A second search at Jones’ girlfriend’s residence turned up additional contraband.

Jones was indicted on April 13, 2021, for illegal firearm possession, and he pleaded guilty under a global plea agreement on October 31, 2022, resolving both federal and state cases.

This case, investigated by the FBI with support from local law enforcement agencies, is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), which aims to reduce violent crime through comprehensive community solutions. The prosecution also stems from an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force investigation, focusing on dismantling criminal networks that threaten public safety.
