Houston James David Green, Armed Drug Dealer Sentenced, Alabama 2024

Houston James David Green, a 24-year-old resident of Chunchula, Alabama, has been sentenced to 10 years in federal prison for his role in an armed drug dealing operation.

According to court documents, Green entered a guilty plea in April of this year to two charges: conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine and carrying a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking felony.

During his arrest, which occurred three times in four months, law enforcement officers found Green in possession of methamphetamine ice, cash, and guns.

United States District Court Judge Kristi K. Dubose imposed the 10-year sentence after observing that the likelihood of recidivism was high, based on her review of the facts of his case.

The sentence consisted of five years on the drug count and five years on the gun count, to be served consecutively. Judge Dubose also ordered that Green will commence a five-year term of supervised release when he is discharged from incarceration. As conditions of his supervision, Green will be subject to testing and treatment for drug abuse.

Additionally, Judge Dubose ordered that Green pay $200 in special mandatory assessments. The judge entered a separate forfeiture order for each of the guns seized from Green during the investigation.

The case was investigated by the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office, the Saraland Police Department, the Citronelle Police Department, and the Department of Homeland Security Investigations. It was prosecuted in the United States Attorney’s Office by Assistant United States Attorney Gloria Bedwell.
