Kenneth Garrett, a 62-year-old resident of Kenton, Tennessee, has been sentenced to 200 months imprisonment for his role in a massive methamphetamine distribution conspiracy.
According to court documents, Garrett was a key player in the operation, which involved the transportation of large quantities of methamphetamine from Mexico to Tennessee.
The case began to unravel in April 2017, when agents received information from a confidential informant about a home in Davidson County, Tennessee, where co-conspirators were conducting drug-related activity.
Further investigation revealed that the co-conspirators were arranging a shipment of methamphetamine from Mexico to Tennessee.
Garrett’s involvement in the operation was further revealed when investigators arranged for the Tennessee Highway Patrol to stop the Lincoln Navigator on Highway 51 in Obion County, Tennessee.
During the search of the vehicle, agents discovered a large quantity of methamphetamine located in a hidden compartment.
A DEA forensic laboratory examination revealed that the defendants were transporting 44.85 kilograms of 98% pure ice.
