ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Joseph Hudson, III, 26, of Williamson, NY, has admitted to possessing horrific child pornography, adding another layer of depravity to a history already stained by sexual abuse. Hudson pleaded guilty before U.S. District Judge Charles J. Siragusa, facing a minimum of ten years and a potential maximum of twenty years behind bars, alongside a hefty $250,000 fine. This isn’t a first offense; Hudson is a registered sex offender with a prior conviction for Sexual Abuse in the First Degree – engaging in sexual contact with a child under eleven.
The case unraveled on March 14, 2024, when the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) flagged suspicious activity. Microsoft reported an individual had uploaded nine files suspected of containing child pornography to one of their platforms. That tip landed with the New York State Police, and their investigation swiftly traced the uploads back to Hudson. The fact that he was already a registered sex offender should have been enough to keep him under tighter scrutiny.
A search warrant executed at Hudson’s residence yielded a chilling discovery. Investigators seized his computer and, through forensic examination, unearthed a digital vault of abuse. Approximately 111 images and 112 videos depicting the sexual abuse and exploitation of prepubescent minors were recovered. The content wasn’t merely exploitative; it included depictions of violence inflicted upon these young victims. This isn’t about ‘images’ – it’s about the real lives shattered and irrevocably damaged.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Kyle P. Rossi, leading the prosecution, built a solid case based on the digital evidence. The investigation was a joint effort between the New York State Police, under the direction of Major Kevin Sucher, and Homeland Security Investigations, led by Special Agent-in-Charge Erin Keegan. These agencies worked to untangle the digital threads and bring Hudson to justice, but the damage is already done.
Hudson’s plea is a grim acknowledgment of guilt, but it offers little comfort to the victims whose suffering he prolonged. Sentencing is scheduled for December 4, 2025, at 9:30 a.m. before Judge Siragusa.
