NASHVILLE, Tenn. – May 16, 2019 – A federal grand jury has indicted two illegal aliens, Jose Calderon, 19, and Brian Paradez, 21, for a sordid plot involving the distribution of cocaine and marijuana, illegal possession of firearms, and more.
According to U.S. Attorney Don Cochran for the Middle District of Tennessee, Calderon, also known as JoJo, and Paradez, also known as Bryant Myers and Bryan Josue Paredes-Nataren, were charged following a DEA investigation that began in June 2018.
The indictment stems from an incident on July 28, 2018, when agents observed Paradez leaving a Nashville bar and entering a vehicle. The pursuit ended at an apartment complex where the suspects fled after evading law enforcement. Agents found Paradez hiding under a car and recovered weapons and drugs from the scene.
If convicted, Calderon and Paradez face a minimum of 10 years in federal prison, up to life, and deportation. The investigation was conducted by the DEA, ATF, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and the Nashville Police Department’s Gang Unit.
The defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty. Assistant U.S. Attorney Ahmed Safeeullah and Trial Attorney Matthew Hoff are handling the prosecution.
