Inmate Caught with Weapon in USP Lee

A 28-year-old inmate at the USP Lee in Jonesville, Virginia, has been sentenced to 40 months in prison for possessing a weapon inside the facility. Jemel Jordan, of Jonesville, Virginia, was found guilty of one count of possessing contraband in prison, a weapon, and one count of making an obscene display or exposure.

The investigation into the case was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Bureau of Prisons. Special Assistant United States Attorney Debbie H. Stevens prosecuted the case for the United States. United States Attorney John P. Fishwick Jr. announced the sentencing in a statement.

“Inside the walls of Federal prison law and order will still be upheld,” Fishwick Jr. said. “When individuals refuse to follow the law, they will be punished.”

Jordan’s guilty plea was entered last week, and he was sentenced yesterday in District Court in Abingdon, Virginia. The USP Lee is a federal prison located in Jonesville, Virginia.
