Derik Wayne Frazier, 35, Pleads Guilty to Felon In Possession Of Firearm & Ammunition in Oklahoma

A Durant man has pleaded guilty to Felon In Possession Of Firearm & Ammunition, a serious crime that could land him in prison for up to 10 years and cost him $250,000 in fines.

Derik Wayne Frazier, 35, of Durant, Oklahoma, entered his guilty plea before U.S. Magistrate Judge Steven P. Shreder in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma in Muskogee, Oklahoma.

The charges against Frazier stem from an investigation by the Durant Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. The indictment alleged that on or about November 24, 2017, Frazier knowingly possessed a firearm and ammunition that had been shipped and transported in interstate and foreign commerce.

Frazier’s guilty plea means he will face a maximum of 10 years in prison, a $250,000 fine, or both. His sentencing has been scheduled for a later date, pending the completion of a presentence investigation report.
