Iowa Woman Sentenced for Meth Possession

A Manchester woman has been sent to prison for her role in a methamphetamine trafficking operation. Robin Kinney, 59, was sentenced to 60 months in federal prison for possessing meth near Central Park in Manchester, Iowa.

According to court documents, Kinney was found with a purse containing over 18 grams of pure methamphetamine, a glass pipe, spoon, syringes, and plastic baggies near the park on September 25, 2019. Her cell phone revealed incoming and outgoing text messages related to the purchase, sale, and distribution of methamphetamine.

Kinney has a history of narcotics-related offenses, having been previously convicted multiple times. She pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance near a protected location in September 2019.

U.S. District Court Chief Judge Leonard T. Strand handed down the sentence in Cedar Rapids. Kinney must also serve an eight-year term of supervised release after completing her prison term. There is no parole in the federal system.

Kinney is currently being held in the United States Marshal’s custody until she can be transported to a federal prison. The case was prosecuted by Special Assistant United States Attorney Elizabeth Dupuich and investigated by the Manchester Police Department.
