A Schenectady man has been sentenced to 330 months in prison for his role in a large-scale drug trafficking operation that flooded the region with fentanyl, methamphetamine, and cocaine.
Jabree Jones, 33, was sentenced on January 9, 2026, to 300 months in prison for his involvement in a conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute fentanyl, cocaine, and methamphetamine, as well as for possessing firearms in furtherance of his drug trafficking crimes.
In addition to the prison sentence, Jones was also sentenced to an additional 30 months in prison for violating the terms of his federal supervised release, including for making false statements to U.S. Probation.
The sentencing comes after Jones pleaded guilty to participating in a drug conspiracy from January to May 2023, during which he was involved in 11 instances of drug distribution and possessed with the intent to distribute fentanyl, cocaine, and methamphetamine on May 23, 2023.
On that day, law enforcement agents with the DEA and ATF searched a property on Western Avenue in Albany, where they found one of Jones’ co-conspirators, Brandon Bartley, with 34 firearms, including an illegal machinegun, as well as over 400 grams of fentanyl pills, over 7,000 grams of pills containing methamphetamine, and over 700 grams of cocaine.
Later that day, agents also searched a property in Halfmoon, New York, where they found another co-conspirator, Anthony Luizzi, along with about 11 kilograms of fentanyl pills and five firearms, including a defaced shotgun.
Another suspect in the investigation, Anthony Zaremski, was fatally shot during the execution of a federal search warrant at his apartment in Clifton Park, New York on May 23, 2023, after Zaremski opened fire and wounded two officers.
Acting U.S. Attorney John A. Sarcone III praised the work of the DEA and ATF in bringing Jones to justice, saying that his crimes caused a ‘devastating impact’ on the community.
Jones will serve a total of 330 months in prison, followed by a five-year term of supervised release.
