Jaceta Anya Streeter, 38, of Jacksonville, has pleaded guilty to aggravated identity theft and wire fraud, resuming a criminal pattern while on federal supervised release. The charges carry a potential 20-year prison sentence for wire fraud, plus a mandatory consecutive two-year term for the identity theft conviction. Streeter is also liable for restitution to the victims she exploited during her scheme.
The case traces back to 2006, when Streeter was convicted at trial for her role in a counterfeit check ring. She served seven years in federal prison, followed by a three-year supervised release term. But after disappearing and becoming a fugitive, the court issued a warrant when her whereabouts went dark. The U.S. Marshals Service eventually tracked her down in Orlando—where they found her in possession of multiple counterfeit identification documents.
That arrest triggered a deeper investigation by federal and local authorities, uncovering a fresh wave of criminal activity. Streeter had obtained credit card numbers and personal identifying information from multiple victims. Using stolen data, she went on a shopping spree at major retailers—hitting home improvement stores and clothing outlets to fraudulently purchase large volumes of merchandise.
Her crimes didn’t occur in isolation. The investigation revealed a calculated operation to exploit financial systems while evading law enforcement. Streeter’s actions violated the terms of her supervised release, demonstrating a blatant disregard for court-imposed restrictions and the law. Her fugitive status only intensified the seriousness of the charges.
The case was jointly investigated by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, the U.S. Department of Treasury – Office of Inspector General Jacksonville Field Office, the U.S. Marshals Service, and the United States Secret Service Jacksonville Field Office. Their collaboration dismantled a fraud operation that preyed on unsuspecting individuals whose personal data was weaponized for profit.
Assistant United States Attorney Kevin C. Frein is prosecuting the case. Sentencing is scheduled for a later date, where Streeter will face the full consequences of her actions—both for the new crimes and her breach of federal supervision. The outcome will send a message: violating release terms and stealing identities won’t go unpunished.
