A Milwaukee man was sentenced for his role in a prostitution ring in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
Jaquon Duckworth, 23, was sentenced to 10 months in custody on July 16, 2015, by U.S. District Judge Karen E. Schreier. He will also serve 2 years of supervised release and pay $100 to the Federal Crime Victims Fund.
Duckworth was indicted on July 8, 2014, by a federal grand jury for his role in transporting a woman for prostitution. He pleaded guilty on April 22, 2015.
The investigation into Duckworth began when Sioux Falls Police detectives on the Street Crimes Unit became aware of prostitution activity at a local hotel on June 22, 2014. Further investigation led to Duckworth, who was posting advertisements online and accepting phone calls to arrange meetings for commercial sexual activity.
Duckworth admitted to traveling from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Sioux Falls with a woman for the purpose of having her engage in prostitution activity.
The case was investigated by the Sioux Falls Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Assistant U.S. Attorney Jeffrey C. Clapper prosecuted the case.
Duckworth was immediately turned over to the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service.
