HARRISBURG – A federal inmate at United States Penitentiary, Allenwood, has been charged with making a threat against the President of the United States.
Jared Marc Brown, 20, was indicted by a federal grand jury for allegedly making a threat to take the life of the President of the United States on June 14, 2017.
The case was investigated by the United States Secret Service and is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney James T. Clancy.
Indictments are only allegations, and all persons charged are presumed to be innocent unless and until found guilty in court.
A sentence following a finding of guilt is imposed by the Judge after consideration of the applicable federal sentencing statutes and the Federal Sentencing Guidelines.
The maximum penalty under federal law for the offense is five years’ imprisonment, a term of supervised release following imprisonment, and a $250,000 fine.
The case is currently pending in federal court.
