CINCINNATI – A Cincinnati, Ohio man has been found guilty of creating and distributing child pornography, officials announced Monday. Jason Fletcher, 41, of Franklin, Ohio, was found guilty of conspiracy to produce and production of child pornography at the conclusion of a bench trial yesterday afternoon.
U.S. District Judge Susan J. Dlott delivered the verdict in the case against Fletcher, who was previously convicted by the state of Ohio of importuning a minor, among other crimes. Under the terms of his probation, he was not to possess pornography of any kind.
According to court documents, Fletcher was arrested in May 2017 after his probation officer discovered he had child pornography on his phone. A search of the phone revealed videos of Fletcher molesting a two-year-old while his accomplice, Ciera Richter, held and moved the child.
Conspiracy to produce child pornography and production of child pornography are crimes that generally carry a potential sentence of 15 to 30 years in prison. Fletcher faces a potential range of 35 years to life in prison, because he has at least two prior state convictions for sex crimes involving children.
Fletcher was found guilty of the following charges: conspiracy to produce child pornography and production of child pornography. His accomplice, Ciera Richter, previously pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to produce child pornography.
The investigation was carried out by Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and the Warren County Sheriff’s Department. Assistant United States Attorneys Megan Gaffney and Christy Muncy prosecuted the case.
Fletcher is set to be sentenced at a later date. The exact date of the sentencing hearing has not been announced.
