A former resident of North Versailles, Pennsylvania, has pleaded guilty to violating federal narcotics laws in a federal court.
Jason Malos, age 38, pleaded guilty to one count of conspiring to distribute and possess with the intent to distribute forty grams or more of fentanyl.
According to court documents, Malos was a wholesale customer of the Hustlas Don’t Sleep drug trafficking organization who purchased and redistributed substantial quantities of fentanyl.
The investigation that led to Malos’ prosecution was conducted by the Drug Enforcement Administration, Monroeville Police Department, Attorney General’s Office, and the Allegheny County Police Department.
The case is part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force (OCDETF) investigation that targets high-level drug traffickers, money launderers, gangs, and transnational criminal organizations.
Malos is scheduled to be sentenced on June 22, 2022, at 9:00 a.m. The law provides for a total sentence of ten years in prison, a fine of $8,000,000, or both.
Assistant United States Attorney Brendan T. Conway is prosecuting the case on behalf of the government.
