Shut Down: Jeanisia Saquise Allen, the owner of First Choice Tax Solutions, LLC, The Tax Experts, Inc., The Tax Experts, LLC, and Top Notch Taxes, Inc., has been permanently banned from preparing federal tax returns for others and owning or operating a tax return preparation business.
A federal court in Detroit entered the permanent injunction against Allen and her companies on March 13, 2022. The court’s decision came after Allen paid the government a settlement pursuant to a settlement agreement, which led to the dismissal of claims seeking the disgorgement of ill-gotten gains that her companies received for preparing tax returns.
According to the government complaint, Allen’s companies, operating under the name ‘The Tax Experts,’ prepared over 17,000 federal tax returns claiming over $82 million in tax refunds between 2017 and 2019. The IRS examined 716 of these returns, resulting in a total additional tax owed to the United States of $3,552,114, or an average of $5,349.57 for each adjusted return.
The government complaint alleges that Allen and her companies failed to train, oversee, and control businesses operating under an agreement to use the name ‘The Tax Experts.’ The complaint also alleges that her companies prepared false or fraudulent tax returns, exhibiting common and widespread false income, expenses, claims, credits, and deductions.
