A Lubbock federal judge has handed down a harsh sentence to a former San Angelo man convicted of child pornography.
Jeffrey Neal Cuddington, 38, formerly of San Angelo, Texas, was sentenced to 188 months in federal prison by Senior U.S. District Judge Sam R. Cummings. Cuddington pleaded guilty in December 2016 to one count of receipt and distribution of a visual depiction of a minor engaging in sexually explicit conduct.
According to court documents, Cuddington used his computers to search for images and videos depicting minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct on the internet. He would download the images and save them to his devices.
On October 11, 2012, Cuddington distributed three images and received one image, all of which depicted prepubescent female children under the age of 18 engaged in sexually explicit conduct.
The case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in 2006 by the government to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse.
The investigation was conducted by the U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and the Texas Department of Public Safety.
Jeffrey Neal Cuddington’s exact criminal charges are receipt and distribution of a visual depiction of a minor engaging in sexually explicit conduct, as stated in the U.S. Attorney’s office press release. He was sentenced on December 2016 and is currently serving his prison term.
