TULSA, Okla. – Jason Gardner Davis, 52, of Jenks, Oklahoma, is headed to federal prison after a disturbing trove of child sexual abuse material was discovered on his cellphone. The sentencing, handed down today by U.S. District Judge John D. Russell, sends a clear message: exploiting children will not be tolerated.
Davis received 78 months imprisonment, followed by a decade of supervised release. The sentence stems from his conviction on the charge of Receipt and Distribution of Child Pornography. Beyond incarceration, Judge Russell ordered Davis to pay $5,100 in restitution and monetary assessments. Crucially, upon his release, Davis will be required to register as a sex offender, a permanent marker of his heinous crimes.
Federal investigators uncovered the depravity between October 2022 and February 2023. Davis confessed to deriving sexual gratification from receiving and sharing sexually explicit images and videos depicting minor children. The investigation took a chilling turn when court records revealed Davis was actively distributing this material to an undercover agent via a social media app. He wasn’t just consuming it; he was spreading it.
A search warrant executed at Davis’ home yielded a grim harvest: 99 images and 39 videos of child sexual abuse material stored on his cellphone. The content included depictions of pre-pubescent children being sexually abused, alongside images showcasing sadistic conduct. This wasn’t a collection of accidental downloads; it was a curated archive of exploitation. The FBI spearheaded the investigation, meticulously building a case against Davis.
Davis was immediately taken into custody following his guilty plea in May and will remain incarcerated pending transfer to the U.S. Bureau of Prisons. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Ashley Robert and Nathan Michel skillfully prosecuted the case, ensuring Davis faced justice for his abhorrent actions. The prosecution highlighted the severe harm caused to the victims depicted in the material and the importance of protecting vulnerable children.
This case was brought forth as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in 2006 by the Department of Justice. This program brings together federal, state, and local resources to combat the pervasive and growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse. The goal is simple: locate, apprehend, and prosecute those who prey on children, and to rescue victims from these horrific circumstances.
