Jeremy Iron, Child Abuse, South Dakota 2022

ST. FRANCIS, SOUTH DAKOTA – Jeremy Iron, a/k/a Jeremy Red Tomahawk, 37, was sentenced to federal prison for child abuse on February 3, 2022.

According to court documents, Jeremy Iron was convicted of child abuse after an incident occurred on September 9, 2020, in Todd County, South Dakota. The victim, a 15-year-old girl, was assaulted by Jeremy Iron, who pulled her hair and bent her fingers back.

This case was investigated by the Rosebud Sioux Tribe Law Enforcement Services. Assistant U.S. Attorney Kirk Albertson prosecuted the case.

Judge Roberto A. Lange, U.S. District Court, handed down the sentence. Jeremy Iron was sentenced to 16 months in federal prison followed by three years of supervised release. He was also ordered to pay a special assessment to the Federal Crime Victims Fund in the amount of $100.

Jeremy Iron was immediately turned over to the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service after the sentencing.

The indictment against Jeremy Iron was filed on March 9, 2021. He pleaded guilty on October 29, 2021, in U.S. District Court.
