Man Behind Bars for Heroin Conspiracy in Roanoke

A man who conspired with others to distribute heroin has been sentenced to a lengthy prison term in the United States District Court for the Western District of Virginia in Roanoke. Jesse Ray Little, 38, of Roanoke, was found guilty of conspiring to distribute 100 grams or more of heroin.

According to court records, Little was involved in a large-scale heroin distribution operation that was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Bedford County Sheriff’s Office, and the Virginia State Police. The investigation led to Little’s arrest and subsequent guilty plea to one count of conspiring to distribute 100 grams or more of heroin.

Little was sentenced to 108 months in federal prison by a district court judge. The sentence is a result of the vigorous enforcement of drug laws by the United States Attorney’s Office and its partners in law enforcement. Despite the severity of the sentence, the Office of the United States Attorney emphasized the need to combat the growing threat of heroin abuse through both enforcement and prevention efforts.

The investigation into Little’s heroin conspiracy was a collaborative effort involving multiple law enforcement agencies. Assistant United States Attorney Andrew Bassford prosecuted the case on behalf of the United States. The sentencing of Little serves as a reminder of the serious consequences of being involved in heroin trafficking and the Office of the United States Attorney’s commitment to holding perpetrators accountable.
