Crime Wave Hits Jackson, Mississippi
Joe Lewis, a 54-year-old resident of Hinds County, Mississippi, pleaded guilty to two counts of attempting to produce child pornography images of minors engaging in sexually explicit conduct.
According to court documents, Lewis attempted to persuade, induct, entice, and coerce minors into Face Timing him as the minors exposed their nude private area to him, thereby engaging in sexually explicit conduct for Lewis’ live viewing and recording. This egregious crime took place from February 2023 to December 2023.
Acting U.S. Attorney Patrick A. Lemon of the Southern District of Mississippi and Special Agent in Charge Robert Eikhoff of the Federal Bureau of Investigation made the announcement, thanking the Jackson Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation for their tireless efforts in investigating the case.
Lewis is scheduled to be sentenced on October 23, 2025, and faces a maximum penalty of thirty years per count in prison. A federal district judge will determine any sentence after considering the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Glenda R. Haynes prosecuted the case, ensuring that justice is served for the victims of Lewis’ heinous crimes.
