Methamphetamine Distribution Scheme Unraveling in Pennsylvania: A Clearfield County man has admitted to conspiring with others to distribute a significant quantity of methamphetamine.

According to authorities, John McKinney, 53, of Hyde, PA, pleaded guilty to Count Two of the Superseding Indictment in United States District Court before Judge Kim R. Gibson on an undisclosed date.

The guilty plea stems from a 13-month period between July 2019 and June 2020, during which McKinney allegedly conspired with others to distribute a detectable amount of methamphetamine.

As part of the plea agreement, McKinney faces a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison, a fine of $1,000,000, or both, upon sentencing on February 9, 2022. The Federal Sentencing Guidelines will determine the actual sentence, taking into account the severity of the offenses and any prior criminal history.

The investigation was conducted by the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force (OCDETF), which targets high-level drug traffickers, money launderers, gangs, and transnational organizations posing a threat to communities nationwide.

Assistant United States Attorney Maureen Sheehan-Balchon is prosecuting the case on behalf of the government.

The U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Pennsylvania, Stephen R. Kaufman, announced the guilty plea in a statement, emphasizing the importance of dismantling organized crime networks and protecting communities from the devastating effects of narcotics trafficking.
