Foster Man Indicted on Child Pornography Charges

A Rhode Island man, already convicted and incarcerated for his past crimes, has been indicted on new child pornography charges.

John Q. Adams, 31, was arrested on February 11, 2021, after an investigation by Homeland Security Investigations and the Rhode Island State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force determined that he had uploaded a video depicting a prepubescent female engaged in various sex acts with an adult male in January 2021.

Adams, who has been detained since his arrest, was indicted today by a federal grand jury on charges of receipt of child pornography and possession of child pornography.

The charges carry statutory penalties of between 15 – 40 years of federal imprisonment followed by up to lifetime supervised release.

A federal indictment is merely an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Denise M. Barton.
