Crack Trafficking Lands Johnstown Woman 5 Years Probation
A resident of Johnstown, Pa., has been sentenced in federal court to five years’ probation, the first year of which to be served as home confinement, on her conviction of violating federal narcotics laws, United States Attorney David J. Hickton announced today.
According to information presented to the court, from Jan. 31, 2013, to April 23, 2013, Donna M. Hawk, 50, of Johnstown, Pa., along with others, conspired to distribute less than 28 grams of cocaine base, in the form commonly known as “crack.”
Assistant United States Attorney John J. Valkovci, Jr., prosecuted this case on behalf of the government.
U.S. Attorney Hickton commended the Laurel Highlands Resident Agency of the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Cambria County Drug Task Force for the investigation leading to the successful prosecution of Hawk.
United States District Judge Kim R. Gibson imposed the sentence on Donna M. Hawk.
The investigation revealed that Hawk and her co-conspirators engaged in a 2.5 month long drug trafficking operation, distributing less than 28 grams of crack cocaine.
Hawk will serve the first year of her probation under home confinement, followed by four years of supervised release, according to the terms of her sentence.
