A Clarion man, Jonathan Sebert, 25, received a 20-year sentence in federal prison for receiving child pornography.
Sebert was sentenced to 240 months’ imprisonment, with a special assessment of $100 imposed, and a 20-year term of supervised release.
He must also comply with all sex offender registration and public notification requirements.
According to court records, Sebert pleaded guilty on February 9, 2017, to one count of receipt of child pornography.
The crime occurred between 2012 and 2015, during which Sebert knowingly received child pornography.
This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in May 2006 to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Mark Tremmel and investigated by the Wright County Sheriff’s Office and the Mason City Police Department.
Sebert’s sentence was handed down by United States District Court Judge Linda R. Reade in Cedar Rapids.
