Four South Florida men, including a prior convicted felon, are facing federal charges in connection to a string of robberies targeting individuals selling Apple products on a popular online marketplace.
A grand jury in the Southern District of Florida has indicted Jordan Denzel Lewis, 23, of Palm Beach, Tyrell Brion Bouie, 21, of Palm Beach, Anthony Christopher Diggs Jr., 20, of Palm Beach, and Johntaevious Henry Johnson, 23, of Broward, on charges of conspiracy to commit robbery, robbery, conspiracy to use and carry a firearm during a crime of violence, and brandishing a firearm during a crime of violence.
The indictment alleges that the defendants targeted victims on a national online marketplace that allows users to list items for sale on its website and mobile application.
According to the charges, from about June to October 2022, Lewis, Bouie, Diggs, and Johnson conspired to rob, and robbed, people who posted Apple products for sale on the online marketplace. The indictment also alleges that they used firearms in some of the robberies.
Tyrell Brion Bouie, one of the defendants, made his initial appearance in federal magistrate court in Fort Lauderdale earlier this week. Initial appearances for Jordan Denzel Lewis and Anthony Christopher Diggs Jr. will be set at a later date. Johntaevious Henry Johnson also made his initial appearance.
U.S. Attorney Markenzy Lapointe and Special Agent in Charge Jeffrey B. Veltri of the FBI, Miami Field Office, announced the charges. The FBI Miami investigated the case, with assistance from the Plantation Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Deric Zacca and Ajay Alexander are prosecuting the case, with Assistant U.S. Attorney Jorge Delgado handling asset forfeiture.
An indictment contains mere allegations, and all defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
