A Fort Dodge man has been sentenced to 16 years in federal prison for his role in a methamphetamine distribution ring in Iowa.
Jordan Taylor, 35, was found guilty of possession with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of pure methamphetamine on April 11, 2024, in federal court in Sioux City.
The evidence presented during the plea and sentencing hearings revealed that Taylor distributed methamphetamine to an individual working with law enforcement on multiple occasions in August 2023.
During a search warrant execution at a hotel in Fort Dodge in September 2023, law enforcement found Taylor attempting to flush methamphetamine down the toilet in the bathroom. They also seized approximately one pound of pure methamphetamine, psilocin mushrooms, pharmaceutical tablets, over $1,100 in cash, and drug distribution paraphernalia from the room.
Further investigation showed that Taylor was responsible for the possession and distribution of approximately three pounds of methamphetamine.
Taylor was sentenced to 16 years’ imprisonment and must serve a five-year term of supervised release following his imprisonment. He remains in U.S. Marshals custody until he can be transported to a federal prison.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Patrick T. Greenwood and was investigated by the Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement, Iowa DCI Laboratory, Webster County Sheriff’s Office, Iowa State Patrol, and the Fort Dodge Police Department.
The case file number is 23-3041. For more information, visit ecf.iand.uscourts.gov.
