Jose Francisco Garcia, Possession with Intent to Distribute Controlled Substance, Illinois 2015

A Collinsville man, Jose Francisco Garcia, 28, of Mexico, has been sentenced to 60 months in prison for his role in a drug crime.

Garcia was arrested by the Collinsville Police Department on December 22, 2014 for possession of a controlled substance.

The defendant pleaded guilty to the offense on May 14, 2015.

Following his prison sentence, Garcia will be on federal supervised release for 3 years. In addition, Garcia was ordered to pay a fine of $500 and a $100 special assessment.

This case was investigated by the Collinsville Police Department and Drug Enforcement Administration. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Deirdre A. Durborow.

Garcia was charged with a one-count indictment charging him with Possession with Intent to Distribute Controlled Substance.
