Defendant Admits to Sending Child Pornography

A Webster Groves man has admitted to sending and receiving child sexual abuse material online, according to a federal indictment.

Joseph A. Seiffertt, 44, pleaded guilty to one count of possession of child pornography on Tuesday. He admitted to possessing 43 images and 433 videos containing child sexual abuse material on his cell phone.

Seiffertt also admitted to using the Kik Messenger app to share and receive child sexual abuse material. Additionally, he discussed the sexual abuse of minors with someone online.

The investigation into Seiffertt’s activities was led by the FBI and the St. Louis County Special Investigations Unit. Assistant U.S. Attorney Jillian Anderson is prosecuting the case.

Seiffertt is scheduled to be sentenced on March 11, 2026. The U.S. Attorney’s Office will recommend a sentence of 12 years in prison, followed by a lifetime on supervised release.

This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse. The project was launched in May 2006 by the federal government.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office emphasized the severity of child sexual abuse and exploitation, and the importance of holding perpetrators accountable for their crimes.
