Prescription Drug Trafficking in Montana
A 29-year-old resident of Shepherd, Montana, was arraigned in a federal court session in Billings on June 11, 2013, for Prescription Drug Trafficking.
Joshua David Carreno, a 29-year-old resident of Shepherd, appeared on charges of possession with the intent to distribute prescription drugs and possession of stolen firearms.
He is currently detained. If convicted of these charges, Carreno faces possible penalties of 20 years in prison, a $1,000,000 fine, and 3 years supervised release.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Brendan P. McCarthy is the prosecutor for the United States. The investigation was a cooperative effort between the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Drug Enforcement Administration.
The defendants pled not guilty to the charges.
